Doug Carson is a family historian and storyteller with a passion for preserving the memories, people and events that have shaped the Carson family across generations.
He began researching his family history in 1988, driven by a desire to better understand his father’s side of the family and record stories that might otherwise be lost. His work led to the publication of the first Carson family history in 1993, before he returned to the project decades later to expand, update and preserve it for future generations.
Drawing on family recollections, photographs, historical records and contributions from relatives, Doug has created a detailed record of the Carson family’s journey from Ireland to Australia and through generations of life in Victoria and beyond.
For Doug, this book has been a labour of love and a way of ensuring that the family’s history remains alive for those who come next.
